A renovation is easier to start when you already know where the furniture goes, where the lights are and what exactly to tell your builders. That is what a design project is for: layouts, renders, drawings and specifications. We work online, so your city does not matter. In Cherkasy and the region we come to measure.
In short
— We start with what you have. A plan, photos, measurements, wishes. The designer will ask for what is missing.— Then the decisions. Where the furniture goes, what light, which materials, what is on every wall.— You get drawings, not just pictures. You can take them to your builders.— Everything in one account. Discussions, files and changes don’t get lost in messengers.— Online from any city. In Cherkasy and the region we can come to measure.
Why a design project if you can decide as you go
You can. But then decisions are made at the last minute: the electrician has arrived and nobody has decided where the bed goes. A socket goes in “somewhere here” and ends up behind a wardrobe. One decision pulls another. The kitchen moved — the wiring changed. A different floor — a different door height. When everything is thought through in advance, you see these things on paper, not on site.
Renders or drawings: what you need
A 3D interior render is a photorealistic image of your room before the renovation. It shows colours, materials, light and furniture the way they will really look. You can compare several options, swap the tile or the kitchen fronts and pick what you like — before spending money on materials.A drawing shows the builder what to do and where: sizes, socket heights, which way doors open, where the plumbing runs, how much tile to buy. They work best together: the render helps you decide what the interior will be, the drawings help build it without rework. If you just want to see your future interior, renders are enough. If a renovation is coming, without drawings your builders will have to guess.
When you need a project and when you don’t
A project pays off where a mistake is expensive:— a new build renovated from scratch — you decide everything, from walls to sockets;— you change the layout — the drawings show which walls move and where the doors go;— you move the kitchen or bathroom — the plumber and electrician know in advance where the water and appliance sockets go;— you order furniture — the joiner builds the kitchen and wardrobes to exact sizes, not by eye;— several crews work on site — everyone has the same drawings and nobody redoes someone else’s work;— you live in another city or country — the crews work from the project, so you don’t have to be on call every day.For a cosmetic refresh a full project is usually too much. We’ll tell you which parts you really need.
Do you have to order everything
No. Someone needs only the layout of one room, someone needs drawings for a design they already have, someone needs the full set for the whole apartment. We agree on the scope before we start, so you know what you get and what you pay for.
Virtual staging is something else
Staging does not prepare a renovation. We take a photo of an empty room and add furniture and decor. It is usually needed for a sale or rental listing. Ready in 24 hours, from $19 per image. If you are not sure what fits you, describe the task in chat and we’ll advise.
Layout
Where the kitchen is, where the bedroom is, where the wardrobes go, how you walk from room to room and whether a door hits the chest of drawers. This is where it is decided whether the apartment will be comfortable to live in.A layout mistake can’t be fixed later by decor or expensive furniture.
Demolition and construction plan
Planning to change the layout? The demolition and construction drawing shows which walls come down, which stay and where the new partitions go — with sizes, thickness and material: aerated block or drywall. New door openings and niches are marked there too.The crew does not mix up “before” and “after”, and you know in advance how much debris there will be and how much material to buy.
Furniture
We place furniture at its real size: can a person pass between the bed and the wardrobe, do the doors open, does the dishwasher fit. For custom furniture this is the basis you take to the maker.
Lights, sockets and switches
We plan sockets and lights after the furniture, not the other way round. The socket by the desk is where the desk will stand. In the kitchen, for the actual appliances. The switch is where your hand goes when you walk into the room.
Ceilings, floors and walls
The ceiling and floor plans show levels, finishes and joints. For every important wall, especially in the bathroom and kitchen, we make a separate drawing: how the tiles lie, where the mirror, mixer, sockets and shelves go.
Specifications
A specification is a list of everything to buy or order for the renovation: tiles, lights, plumbing, furniture, doors — with names and quantities. It makes it easy to put together a budget and compare prices across shops.Materials keep getting more expensive, so it pays to buy early — during sales or in one order. And when everything is counted exactly, you don’t overpay for extra tile or hunt for two more boxes from the same batch in the middle of the renovation.
What to send at the start
Whatever you already have. For example:— the apartment plan, the developer’s one will do;— photos or videos of the rooms;— measurements, if you took them;— the furniture and appliances that stay;— a few interiors you like;— a rough budget, if you are ready to share it.Something is missing — no problem. The developer’s plan often differs from the real apartment, so we check the measurements anyway.
Not sure what to order
You don’t need to know the names of services. Write in your own words, for example:— “We bought an apartment and want to understand how to place the furniture and how it will look after the renovation.”— “We already have a design and need drawings for the builders.”— “We live abroad and want to prepare the apartment for renovation remotely.”The designer then suggests the scope of work.
How the work goes
Materials → layout → renders → changes → drawings → final files. At every step you see the result in your account and leave comments. If something changes after approval, the designer updates everything linked to it: change the furniture and the sockets are updated too.
Can everything be done online
Mostly yes. Layouts, renders, drawings and discussions don’t need the designer on site.Measurements are another matter. If the walls are crooked, the layout is unusual or the risers need finding, it is better to measure on site. In Cherkasy and the region we come ourselves. In other cities we decide together: you, your builder or a local surveyor.
If you live in another country
Then a project is even more useful. During a remote renovation you can’t come to the site every day and stand over the builders. But they have the drawings: what to do, with which materials and exactly where. There are fewer “how should this go?” questions, and nothing gets decided without you.Everything is approved online: you review the layout, renders and drawings in your personal account and always see what is already approved and what is not yet.
What the price depends on
Not only on the area. Two 60 m² apartments can cost quite differently: one needs a layout and a style, the other moved walls, two bathrooms, a custom kitchen and a full set of drawings.Base prices: technical project from $15/m², design project from $29/m², virtual staging from $19 per image. The final amount depends on the number of rooms, layout changes, the number of drawings and renders, custom furniture and the size of the specifications. We name it once we see the plan and understand the task.
How to compare studio offers
Look not at the amount but at what you get for it:— how many rooms and drawings;— whether renders and specifications are included;— whether measuring is included;— how many rounds of changes;— whether you can order a part instead of the whole project.
What we agree on before we start
Before we start, we agree on a few things so there are no surprises for you or for us:— Scope — which rooms we design and what exactly you need: just the layout, drawings for the builders or a full design project.— Deliverables — which files you get: drawings, renders, specifications.— Approval — you review every stage in your personal account: approve it or write what to change.— Changes — how many changes the price includes and when it becomes rework at extra cost.— Measurements — who takes them: us, your builder or a local surveyor. The whole project depends on how accurate they are.
What we need from you
At the start — whatever you already have: the apartment plan, photos of the rooms, measurements, examples of interiors you like. After that — answer the designer’s questions and don’t delay feedback on the options, so the work doesn’t stall. And one more thing: if something changed on site — the builder moved a pipe or the developer installed different windows — tell the designer right away. A project is only as accurate as the data we work with.
After the project
You hand the files to your builders, buy materials, order furniture. The builders don’t have to guess what the designer meant. The renovation itself, technical supervision and the crew’s responsibility for quality are not part of the project unless agreed separately.
How long does a design project take?
Technical project — from 3 weeks, design project — from 6 weeks, virtual staging — 24 hours. The exact time depends on the area, the scope and how quickly you approve the options. We name it once we see the plan.
Can I order just one room?
Yes. For example, only the kitchen or the bathroom.
Does a small apartment need a project?
Often even more than a big one. In 30 m² every centimetre counts, and a mistake with a wardrobe or a door is felt at once.
Do I need to know my style in advance?
No. Show a few photos you like, even if they are completely different. Working out what they have in common is the designer’s job.
Can I do without 3D renders?
Yes, if you only need drawings. But if you want to see the room before the renovation, renders help you not to get the colours and materials wrong.
Do I need exact measurements?
For drawings, yes. For simple tasks your tape-measure measurements are enough. For complex ones it is better to measure on site.
Can I ask for changes?
Yes, it is a normal part of the work. How many rounds of changes the price includes, we agree before we start. Reworking an already approved part is charged separately.
Can I order only drawings or only renders?
Yes, drawings and renders can be ordered separately.Interior renders suit you if you are still deciding what the renovation will be: you want to see the room in your style, choose colours and materials, compare several options for the kitchen or living room. It is the easiest way to understand what you really like before buying tiles and furniture.Drawings — if you already have a design and need to pass it to your builders. But for the renovation itself a render alone is not enough: a picture does not show sizes, socket heights or where the pipes run.
